Alpha Controls was incorporated in June of 1984 as a local industrial Instrumentation / Electrical Contractor employed with the oil and gas industry in the north eastern B.C. area. From 1984 to 1996 Alpha Controls Ltd. was under contract with Esso Resources Boundary Lake to maintain and establish preventative maintenance programs in the area. Alpha Controls Ltd., under the direction of construction consultants, participated in all construction programs as required. From 1996 to 1999 Alpha Controls looked after all the Preventative Maintenance programs in the area, for PetroCanada. From 1997 to 2000, Alpha Controls was involved in the establishing of maintenance programs and construction as required, in the Ring Border Canadian Hunter Gas Plant and field areas. |

In May 2000 Pat Pimm was added to the management of Alpha Controls Ltd. to assist in the establishment of the metering division of Alpha Controls and the day to day operation of the company.
Current Projects Include:
1: Field and plant maintenance for Prime West Energy at Laprise and Bubbles Field.
2: Field maintenance for Domcan Rigel Field.
3: All EFM and dri-flo measurement and transmitter repairs for Petro-Canada in the Fort St. John area.
4: Preventative maintenance and EFM and dryflow measurement at Devon Canada.
5: Construction, electrical and instrumentation at Anadarko Canada Energy's facilities at Buckinghorse.
6: Electrical installation at the new Transport Honda Dealership building in Fort St. John.
7: Traffic signals and streetlight installations for the City of Fort St. John.
8: Electrical installation at the new shop for Desa Pipeline.
9: Instrumentation and electrical as required for the construction of Anadarko Canada's Cypress GasDehy Facility.
10: EFM and gas detection at Encana, Monias Field.
Past Projects Completed Include:
1: Downsizing of the PetroCanada plant at Gold Creek.
2: Electrification of the Esso Resources Boundary Lake operating area including Control Rooms and Process Facilities.
3: Construction of early facilities of the Amerada Hess Gas Plant.
4: Installation and construction of Petro-Canada’s Tommy Lakes Facility including the installation of seven turbines.
5: Installation and construction of Petro-Canada’s Jedney “A” Solar turbines.
6: Installation and construction of new expansion at Petro-Canada’s North Jedney facility.
7: Reconstruction and startup of Domcan’s 16-32 at Mile 74 on the Alaska Highway.
8: In 2001, our electricians were subcontracted to Bermac Electrical to complete work at AEC sites in the Fort Nelson area and an Amoco site south of Calgary.
Alpha Controls Ltd. currently operates with a staff of 15 to 25 employees, with 8 fully outfitted field trucks. Alpha Controls Ltd. also has a substantial inventory of valves, valve repair kits, controllers, controller repair kits, gauges and repair kits for all oilfield instrumentation in stock. Alpha Controls Ltd. has a large inventory (approx. $400,000- $500,000) of electrical parts, switches, connection and device boxes required in the oil patch.
Also recorders, test gauges, calibrators, generators, meters, registered calibration equipment for EFM systems, Baker pumps, etc., for rental.
All Preventative Maintenance programs and metering programs are documented on our MS Excel program for scheduling purposes, so notification can be given in previous month prior to work becoming due.
